Addis Guzo reloaded!
The seventh year itch of Addis Guzo brings us the big change. In the near future we will move with our project to a new location in Addis Ababa. The conversion work on the new site is ongoing.
Ongoing trainings and further education activities at Addis Guzo
We have often reported that the mutual exchange of knowledge is very important to us. In the six years in which Addis Guzo is active in Ethiopia, an incredible amount of know-how has developed. We have become an educational center and we want to continue being this in the years to come.
Family is of the highest importance throughout. The term family is defined very broadly. “My sister” or “my brother” are not only indicators of direct family members but also are used for cousins extended relatives and family friends. Children often grow up with other family members like aunts and uncles. Many families take care of children in need. All in all Ethiopians take care of each other, whether close family, neighbors and friends.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities 3. December is an United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with disabilities and encourage support for their dignity, rights and wellbeing. Each year the UN announces a theme. The theme for 2015 is:
Inclusion matters: access and empowerment for people of all abilities.
We celebrate this event with an Open Day at Addis Guzo on December 12.
